San Remo Porto Vecchio PORTO VECCHIO - is municipal port of San Remo. The heart of the seaport San Remo is square Piazza Bresca. It's situated near the Porto Vecchio. One can visit also the fortress Santa Tecla and take a walk on the sea front delle Nazioni. Square is named in honor of Capitan Benedetto Bresca. Navigation in San Remo has always been well-developed, and local proverb confirms this fact: «li gens de San Remu navigou san remu» — it means: citizens of San Remo can go in the sea even without oars, even only under sail. Porto Vecchio — Old Port — is called in this way just not to confuse it from a new one — Portosole. Port occupies more than 83000 square meters of water. Yacht's berthing: 450 boats (plus 50 fishing boats). The visiting card of the port is the fortress Santa Tecla (built in the middle of 18th century). It's a marvelous monument of Ligurian architecture. Latitude: 43° 48' 98 N
