The travel to the Seychelles Islands

Lately the government of the Seychelles islands has inaugurated for tourists the atoll Aldabra, it’s 4 coral islands, situated in the Mozambique channel. The atoll Aldabra has been added to the list of the world property UNESCO in 1982, it’s situated at 680 km to the east of the African continent and at 1000 km of Mahé, the island capital of the Seychelles. In the atoll is located the biggest in the world colony of giant turtles (more than 200 thousand!) and resides the last in the area of west-India bird, which is not able to fly the white breast pogo. The atoll Aldabra is one of the biggest atolls in the world with length of 22 kilometers from the west to the east. In the lagoon of the atoll there also reef sharks and giant mantes.

The narrow channels devise the atoll on four segments, providing regular inflow of the oceanic water. The bottom of the lagoons is practically completely exposed during the low-tide, showing the undergrowth corals and the refuges of the sea residents. Aldabra still remains the one of not much places in the world where is possible to see such a huge colonies of giant land turtles (more than 152 thousand), and also a multitude of birds. But it’s very difficult to access to this place because the island is governated by the fund of the Seychelles islands and is considered as a scientific station.
