The passage from Genoa to Cap Ferrat tooked 4 hours. During the way we passed by San Remo (very big and good harbour), Monaco (2 harbours), Menton (good harbour). The distance was about 75 miles, the wind was about 3-4 forces accordind to Bosporus. In case of calm sea, it’s possible to make the distance within 3 hours. The speed of the motor yachts which length is between 46 and 60 foots (14,8 – 18,3 meters) depending on the charching is 22 to 25, sometimes even 28 knots. In the gulf of Cap Ferrat there are normally a huge amount of yachts, starting from the 100 feet mega yacht and ocean cruising liners and ending up with the simple boats of the local residents.
Such disposition of the Italian harbours make it comfortable to store yachts during the winter for the owners France residents, because it’s practically impossible to find a stationing place in the French marinas.
Doubling the picturesque Cap Ferrat, you stop involuntarily your glance on the multitude villas of the richest and the famousest people in the world. Monaco is more picturesque than any other land excursion from the seaside. The maritime travels differ from land excursions for its panoramic view of one town or another, and the surrounding landscapes. From one side of Cap Ferrat there is Ville Franche Sur Mer and from the other side Saint Jean Cap Ferrat. At that place we found free places, so we stopped by there for the night. Saint Jean Cap Ferrat is a small ‘village’ which differs smoothly from Cap Ferrat. The harbor is expensive: the berth for one night cost 110 Euros, but it’s very convenient due to its miniaturity.
Right in the marines there are restaurants (about 6-7), boutiques, manufactured goods and grocery stores. The town is very small. We taked on fuel – 0,98 Euros per liter. It’s very expensive, but there is no other fuel in Cap Ferrat.
In the morning after having booked a berth place in Frejus, we continued our travel. According to the wind force 2-3 of Buford bar, swimming or standing in day time in Côte d’Azur is possible only in two places:  Cap Ferrat, which is not so clean, because of the huge amout of big yachts and its location in front of Cannes and Nice near the islands St Marguerite and St Honoré, and the bay of Saint Tropez, which is far from all the others. The distance is practically the same from there to Monaco from one side and to Saint Tropez from the other side of the Côte d’Azur. After swimming and taking sun baths at this place, we navigated to Frejus for spending the night. At this time the wind force has become 3-4 according to Buford bar, so we had to lounge a little. Frejus is a province comparing with the other places of our stationing, though the cost for the berth for the night had cost 34 Euros. The marina is big enough, builded from all sides with houses and buldings 4-5 levels. Such plan condominium (own marina, own apartment, own garage or stationing place, own beach) is typical for the Côte d’Azur. There are also a couple of restaurants and all the service needed for the berth. Then we wanted to accede to Saint Tropez. Though it was the beginning of September, the marina of Saint Tropez was full. We got a politely refusal, with a justification that only 18 meters boats and higher are allowed there. When we get there later on a taxi boat we understood why.
