We spent the night in the port Grimaud, which is located in 8 kilometers from the right land road of Saint Tropez. Port Grimaud is a miniature Venetia, with its channels, small houses and its location in the marina-channels. A small town on the water with its restaurants, shops, pharmacies, boutiques. The weather was rainy and we hadn’t any opportunity to call a taxi. On the phone they had refused as soon as they heard about driving to port Grimaud. So we hadn’t choice and we get there by maritime taxi – speed boat. We spent 10 minutes to get there. The cost per 9 Euros per person. As soon as we arrived to the marina of Saint Tropez, we understood why for the third day there wasn’t places for the ‘babies’ of 14-18 meters, because right at the enter side to the quay, there were two 150 foots beauties. And on the rest of the place in the central small head coast there were 108 foots mangusts and Leopards and other yachts from this range. The owners were occupied aboard with their business, while on the coast the public was observing them in order to see a famous star. The nearest streets to the port are full of boutiques and restaurants, small and exquisite. After shopping and walking in the center and on the coast of Saint Tropez, we took course to port Grimaud. There were 4 cars in taxi station, their owners were sitting in the nearest café. By intuition I found their table and I asked them to drive us to port Grimaud. They held a consultation and decided that they wouldn’t for less then 50 Euros. I asked them why, and they limply answered that the narrow coast road between Saint Tropez and port Grimaud is full of cars which make a detour inevitable. Because we hadn’t other alternative (because of the powerful wind the maritime taxi didn’t work), we had to accept the dictate. Normally the trip doesn’t cost more than 20 Euros. After dining in local restaurant and walking in the rainy port Grimaud, we had a quiet sleep. In the morning we spent about 50 Euros and filled up full tanks, then we get back to the direction of Cannes. On the beam of Saint Tropez there were the 100 meters beauties, for which there was no place in Saint Tropez. It’s really the main place for assembling of the owners of the most most expensive yachts. After booking a place in Mandelieu, we get to swim and to take sunbaths on the islands in front of Cannes, Nice. We spent two days between the tens of boats and yachts, from 40 to 100 foot, spending the nights in port De La Rague. In Mandelieu there wasn no free places. We liked port De La Rague for its location and its landscape. Not far from Cannes, without any vanity, exquisite villas and old fortresses on the rocks of the beautiful marina. We recommend to have a diner in the Marina Mandelieu in the restaurant ‘Brocherie’. It would be better to book a table in advance. We spent the left days in one of the biggest Mediterranean Marinas – The Antibes. The Antibes port Vauban is located between Cannes and Nice, which make it a good geographic place. The port offers a multitude of place berths for mega yachts of 30 meters and more, which make it beyond comparison with other ports of the Côte d’Azur. The charm of the old town with a multitude of small restaurants will make your stopping by in the Antibes Marine unforgettable.
